Savage 2: A Tortured Soul |

Developer S2 Games decided to forget all about the usual way of distribution and announced that Savage 2: A Tortured Soul (the sequel to Savage: The Battle for Newerth) will only be available as an online download on the company's
site.
This way, S2 Games gets to sell its game much cheaper (only $29.99), as it doesn't have to share revenues with retailers or traditional publishing networks:
If the game was sold through retail stores, we would be forced to set a higher price point like the other triple-A titles out there. By circumventing traditional publishing methods, we're able to pass the savings directly on to the consumer as well as have much greater artistic license with our game. (Marc DeForest, co-founder and lead designer, S2 Games)
Savage 2: A Tortured Soul will feature an improved melee system, a first person /third person camera, better items and an enhanced spell casting system. Furthermore, developers claim they've implemented high quality models and animations, fully dynamic self shadows, realistic reflective water effects, bump mapping and pixel shaders.
